History of the '57-'60 Ford Trucks
1957 to 1960 was a great innovation in the truck world. Especially for Ford. Trucks prior to 1957 had the "step side" beds, that was a standard option, 6 or 8 foot beds. But the "Styleside" beds had not even been thought of until late '56, when Ford went about redesigning their truck line. And they did. The 1957 Ford F100 was the leader in all of truck history to standardize the Styleside beds on all trucks today. But the bed is only one detail that sets this series truck apart from the rest. The bigger motors, the bigger cabs for the driver, the overall improved handling were all taken care of in these new trucks. As you click through the links above with the years, keep in mind that you are looking at the great fore fathers of what is now thought of as a Ford Truck.
