History Of My 1959 Truck
 My truck began its life on May 23rd, 1959, when it rolled out of Ford's San Jose assembly plant pictured to the right. It is now called The Great Mall Of the Bay Area. If your ever out in Milpitas, visit the mall, as they have a Ford display across from the food court. My truck's VIN number is F10C9R37117 which means:
F10=F100
C=292 V8
9=1959
R=San Jose Assembly Plant
37117=The 37,117th '59 Ford F100 made at this plant.
Other information is the wheelbase is 100 inches, the color is Vermillion Red, it has a three speed with overdrive, the max gross vehicle weight is 5000 pounds, the certified net horse power is 158 at 4000 RPM, and the D.S.O. is 8067, which I am currently trying to decode.
My uncle bought the truck, and used it for about 10 years. I have another picture of him and my truck, but I need to find it. It shows him leaning on the hood of the truck. Anyway, he gave it to his son in the early-70's. The interesting thing about my uncle is that the only truck he ever owned that had a radio was my '59! When he buys new trucks, he orders them without a radio and without air conditioning. That is just the way he likes them. Anyway, his son owned it for about 10 years, but when he first got it, he put a 351 Cleveland (I'm not sure exactly, but I think this is it) in replacement of the original 292. He never drove on that motor though. He took it back out and then parked the truck for about 5 years. This would put the truck around 1981-82.
My father and newlywed mother were moving around between California (father's birthplace) and New Mexico (my mother's birthplace) trying to find somewhere to live. Well, m y dad was driving a semi truck between California and Oklahoma hauling engine motors for GM (general motors) and hauling produce back to Oklahoma. The GM motor plant was in Oklahoma City, so my parents decided to move there for simple reasons. Dad would be close to the plant. Anyway, back to the point. My parents were moving to Oklahoma in the early-80's and my dad visited his brother (my uncle) up in Oregon. Well that is where his son lived too. To make a long story short (to late, Haha) my dad was interested in restoring that '59. So he loaded it up and they moved here to Oklahoma and set up a home and the whole nine yards. Well, when my dad got the pickup, the motor and trans. was out of the pickup so it came without of it. My dad went to a salvage yard and went and bought a V8 motor, supposedly a 292, but it came out of a 56 COE. So I am not sure. It could be a 272. Anyway, he also bought a transmission with O/D and brought it home. That is as far as he got with restoring that pickup himself.
I was out behind the horse barn where my dad had parked the truck cleaning up and I had wondered what that truck was. At this time I had no knowledge of the truck that I do know now. Anyway, this was around January of 2000. So I asked my dad some questions about it and February 15th, 2000, the truck rolled into the truck barn (with the help of my dad's tractor).
Here are some pictures that I was able to grab off a VHS with a whole bunch of old 8 MM that was compiled onto this tape I was watching. All of these pictures span form 63-68. If my uncle is in any of them, I will try and point him out.
 My uncle is standing in front of the door looking to the left.
 OK, this looks stupid, but it isn't. As you all know by now, my uncle owned the truck in California. Well, you're looking at a mountain in California. But in the tape, two people are in the a truck that is on the highway. That truck is mine. If you look to the far left side of this picture, that's the divider bar inside of the passenger door!
 The truck in the background is mine, again. The man on the horse (Old Sammy, possibly the best horse my uncle ever had) is my uncle. This is where he lived at Otay Ranch, about 10 miles south of Imperial Beach, and about 2 miles from the Mexican border. He took the camper he had on the back on and off.
 The kid on the horse is Clint, when he was younger. He is learning how to rope. Anyway, you see my truck with the camper.
 Here is Little Mike, Now 35, but he is the other son to my uncle, and brother to Clint. But you see the bed of my truck.....kinda.
 Possibly the best picture you will see of my truck. Not really, the next one is.
 OK, the camera was panning, so I grabbed a couple of pictures and just spliced them together. Crude, yes, but worth it, yes. Damn, that looks good.
